Organizing an event is one aspect. Making sure your attendees are well accommodated is a whole lot different ball game. You need to block rooms in advance at multiple hotels, diligently manage the rooms blocked for attendees so there is enough availability while also making sure you havent blocked rooms more than what is required. All of this results in a lot of wasted resources, time and money.

Instead, wouldnt it be better if you could just display the nearest hotels to stay from your event venue, on your event website, and let your attendees book their rooms based on their requirements and budget? Process refunds from your Dryfta event dashboard

Until now, when processing refund, the Dryfta platform was primarily acting as a bookkeeper by recording the refund amount in the system. However it didnt actually process the refund. To process the refund, our event organizers have had to log in to their Stripe dashboard and manually process the refund.

We’re changing that. Admin users can now process refunds right from their Dryfta dashboard.

The refund will be automatically processed if Stripe payment gateway was selected while this order was being placed. Admins have the option to make partial refunds. The refund amount does not include tax.

Also, if an order remains pending, the system will now tell you the reason about why the credit card failed or declined. It could be due to many reasons including wrong credit card number, expired credit card, declined by bank etc.

Send SMS notifications to attendees using Twilio for Dryfta

Twilio integration for Dryfta is out. For those who do not know about Twilio, it is a Messaging platform to send SMS from any app, and ensure deliverability using intelligent delivery features.

As an event organizer, you can do the following using Twilio:

  • Send SMSs when someone registers on your event website
  • Notify through SMS when someone purchases a ticket
  • Send automated event reminders to attendees on their registered phone numbers
  • Push an emergency notification to all of your attendees
  • Ask attendees to complete their registration form
  • Notify attendees about a sudden change in one of the program sessions

Update: Organizers can now send mass SMSs to all registrants. Simply enter your text, choose the registrant type and click on Send button to send SMSs to everyone at once.

To start sending automated SMSs to your attendees, you need to purchase a plan at Twilio’s website, get the credentials and enter those credentials into Twilio settings in your Dryfta dashboard.

Sync subscribers from Dryfta to Mailchimp

Dryfta users flock to their event snapshots page whenever they want to see real-time status of their events. Collect Abstract Submissions Fees Online

If you charge a processing fee per abstract submission or per accepted abstract submission for your conference, then Dryfta event platform is for you. Using Dryfta, you can create tickets to collect abstract submission fees for all submitted & accepted abstracts.

For abstract submissions, as soon as the fee payment is confirmed, the system would allow author to submit the abstract/s. Admin can select the number of abstracts that can be submitted per ticket and set the dates for abstract submission site to open and close abstract submissions.

For fees paid for accepted abstracts to allow authors to present the paper at the conference, once author has paid the fee through credit card, the system would send the invoice to the author and updates the abstract submission with the Paid status automatically. This makes sure admin knows if the accepted abstract has been paid for or not.

Create your Event registration & Abstract submission forms using Visual Form Builder

As promised, the upgraded Form builder is now live and accessible from your dashboard. Creating custom fields for your forms including event registration and abstract submission forms, is now easier than ever.

The text buttons are replaced with visual icons and text buttons to allow more easier understanding of what it (button) does. The absence of too many texts also created more whitespace making it more easier and calmer for event admins to create custom fields!

We also felt the field editor popup was creating a sense of alienation and was not as seamless as we envisioned. So, instead of opening the field editor in a popup, it now opens in the same window.

Create & Customize Abstract Book using the upgraded Abstract Book Builder

Last week, we added the ability to include custom fields from user registration and reviewer registration forms into abstract book. The Abstract book builder already has the ability to include the fields from abstract submission and review submission forms. The recent upgrade just makes it more complete abstract book builder tool than ever before.

This feature lets you add authors’ and reviewers’ data in the abstract book. You have the option to choose which fields you want to display in the abstract book. It also allows you to include the Download link to the presentation files of authors/speakers.
