Are you organizing a scientific conference and managing abstract submissions? One of the challenges for event organizers is collecting fees for approved abstracts and papers efficiently. With Dryfta, this process is now simpler than ever. Our platform not only collects abstract submission and peer reviews but also allows you to accept payments for approved submissions—saving time and reducing manual effort.
Let’s find out how this feature works and why it’s a game-changer for academic event organizers.
Why Collect Fees for Approved Abstracts?
Charging a fee for approved abstracts helps offset the cost of organizing a conference, such as venue rentals, technology platforms, and logistics. It also ensures that only serious contributors submit their work, enhancing the quality of the conference. However, manually managing these payments can be cumbersome, requiring extensive coordination and follow-ups. Dryfta eliminates these challenges by automating the process.
How to Set Up Payment Collection for Approved Abstracts
If you’re already using Dryfta, enabling this feature is easy. Here’s how you can set up your conference website to accept payments from authors whose abstracts have been approved:
1. Create or Select a Ticket
- Log in to your Dryfta event dashboard and navigate to the Basics section.
- If you haven’t already, create a ticket specifically for approved abstracts. Alternatively, you can select an existing ticket to use for this purpose.
2. Enable Payment Option for Approved Abstracts
- Go to the Abstract Settings section.
- Enable the Accept Payments for Approved Abstracts setting and click Save.
- Once enabled, a Select a Ticket Type dropdown will appear. Choose the ticket you want to associate with abstract payments.
3. Display Abstract Payment Tickets
- The selected ticket type will now be displayed as an Abstract Payment Ticket on your event website.
- To ensure privacy, this ticket will be hidden from general users and only visible to authors with approved abstracts. Authors must log in to their dashboards to access and purchase this ticket.
4. Authors Make Payments
- Authors with approved abstracts can navigate to the Buy Tickets page on your website.
- After selecting the quantity of tickets, a dropdown will appear allowing authors to link their payment to a specific approved abstract.
- Once the payment is confirmed, the associated abstract will be displayed alongside the purchased ticket in the author’s dashboard.
5. Admin Dashboard Updates
- Event admins can view and manage these purchases under the Orders section in the event dashboard, keeping all payment records organized and accessible.
Benefits of Collecting Abstract Fees with Dryfta

- Transparency: Provide authors with a seamless payment experience while ensuring they can link payments directly to their abstracts.
- Streamlined Management: Keep all payment records in one place, making it easy for admins to track and reconcile.
