This month’s Dryfta updates focus on making virtual delivery simpler, attendee navigation faster, and admin controls tighter across matchmaking, submissions, and ticketing.
1. New Webinar Mode
You can now run sessions as either a Live Meeting or a Webinar:
- Live Meeting mode
- Attendees join with camera and microphone
- Speakers join with camera and microphone
- Moderators join with camera and microphone, plus moderator controls
- Webinar mode
- Up to 100 people can join the live meeting (speakers, moderators, and selected attendees who need to ask questions)
- Up to 10,000 attendees can watch the livestream concurrently
- Attendees watch the livestream by default, then either:
- submit questions via Q&A, or
- click Live Q&A to switch from livestream into the live meeting and ask directly
- Moderators see the RTMP details needed to start the livestream
- Dryfta generates an RTMP key, stores the player URL, and embeds it as the livestream URL for attendees
This replaces the older Vimeo based workflow, significantly reducing setup steps and cost.
2. Quick Links on the Event App Homepage
In the Event App Publisher, you can now Display quick links so attendees get one tap access to key areas, without hunting through internal navigation.
3. Matchmaking Backend: More Data, More Control
Matchmaking can now use fields from all default and custom registration forms for the attendee role. You also get:
- a view of each attendee and their recommended matches
- the ability to remove specific users from an attendee’s recommendations
- multi select rule mapping (no longer limited to one dropdown value)
4. Auto Assignment: Panels Count More Accurately
When auto assigning reviews, you can now count individual submissions within a panel toward the reviewer’s assignment limit.
5. Ticket Groups: Cap Purchases Per Person
Add a max tickets allowed per person setting inside ticket groups to prevent over purchasing across a grouped set of ticket types.
6. Run Assignments by Custom Reviewer Roles
In submission settings, custom roles now appear beside Run, so you can assign submissions to:
- all reviewers, or
- only reviewers belonging to selected custom roles
7. Bulk Unassign: Only Truly Unreviewed
A new button lets you Unassign all unreviewed submissions in bulk. Partially reviewed submissions are excluded.
8. Ticket Types That Require Manual Approval
For restricted ticket types, you can now enable Requires manual approval:
- attendees can place the order, but no payment option is shown until approval
- admins approve the order from the backend order detail view
- the attendee receives a notification to proceed with payment
- include a shortcode for a public payment link, so payment can be completed directly
If you want, get back to us with your next event’s setup (virtual, hybrid, or onsite) and we’ll point out which of these changes can remove the most friction in your workflow.
