Why does a discount code show as unavailable when the usage count is not reached?

Question
A user is registering multiple people one after another using the same discount code, but the system says the code is unavailable even though the total allowed uses have not been reached. Why does this happen and how can it be fixed?
Answer
This typically occurs when the discount code is configured with a '1 person per order' usage limit. This means the code can only be used once per purchase order, so if the user tries to place multiple separate orders each using the same code, the system will prevent re-use after the first order, showing the code as unavailable.
To allow multiple uses across orders by the same person, check the discount code settings in the admin panel and adjust the 'per order' usage limit accordingly. If the code is meant to be used multiple times by the same buyer (either in one or multiple orders), ensure that the settings reflect this.
As a temporary workaround, manually re-saving the discount code in the Discounts section can reset its availability, but it is best to update the code configuration for a permanent fix.
