Why do administrators need an additional admin staff role, and how does role filtering work?

Last updated Jul 20, 2026

Question

Why do users with the Administrator role also need the Admin Staff role to see certain things, and why does filtering by the Admin Staff role sometimes show users with the Administrator role?

Answer

In Dryfta, administrators need an additional admin role such as Admin Staff so that you can assign specific access permissions separately to each admin role.

Without separate roles, all admins would have the same permissions and access to all modules.

By assigning multiple roles, you can control which modules and features each admin role can access individually.

Regarding filtering, when you filter users by the Admin Staff role, the system shows users assigned to that role; if you see other roles like Administrator included, it might be because some users hold multiple roles, such as both Administrator (a super user) and Admin Staff. Therefore, the filter includes all users with the selected role regardless of their other assigned roles.
