Why Are Some Users Unable to Upload Files While Others Can in Dryfta?

Last updated Jul 1, 2026

Question

Some users report that they cannot upload files to the Dryfta platform, while others can. What could be the cause and how can this be resolved?

Answer

In Dryfta, if a submission is currently being edited by one user, it becomes locked to prevent conflicting changes. Other users, including coauthors, cannot upload files or make edits until the lock is released. If a user is unable to upload a file, check whether another coauthor or user is currently editing the submission. They can either complete their edits or click the "Release Lock" button to free the submission for others to edit or upload files. This locking mechanism ensures data integrity when multiple users collaborate on the same submission.
