Pulling Dietary Requirements Data - Clarification on Custom Fields in Reports

Last updated Jul 21, 2026

Question

When pulling dietary requirements data in reports, I see that the field is listed in both the Contacts/Reviewers custom fields section and the Custom fields section. Does it matter which one I select? Will either bring over the data I need?

Answer

In the reporting system, custom fields such as dietary requirements may appear in two separate sections: 1) Contacts/Reviewers custom fields, and 2) Custom fields you have created. These represent different contexts in the report builder.

The Contacts/Reviewers custom fields section is used to select columns to display in the CSV output, essentially choosing which data fields to include in your report. The Custom fields section is typically used for filtering records based on those fields.

Although the field may appear in both places with the same name, to pull the dietary requirements data you need in your report columns, you should select the field from the Contacts/Reviewers custom fields section.

If you want to filter your report based on dietary requirements, use the field from the Custom fields section. It's recommended to preview reports or export sample CSVs when uncertain which field selection returns the desired data.
