How to Resubmit or "Unwithdraw" an Abstract After Withdrawal

If an author has withdrawn an abstract, is it possible to "unwithdraw" it or resubmit it in the Dryfta system? If so, how can an admin enable the author to resubmit after withdrawal?

When an abstract is withdrawn in the Dryfta system, it remains available for 14 days before being automatically purged from the system. Within this 14-day window, an admin might be able to assist the author in resubmitting or restoring the abstract.

After 14 days, once the abstract has been purged, it cannot be "unwithdrawn" or restored directly.

To allow the author to submit again after withdrawal (once the abstract is deleted):

1. Extend the submission deadline to a future date.
2. Create or use a custom author role (commonly referred to as "Late-breaking Author") and assign this role to the author. This role is not a default system role and must be configured by the admin.
3. In the Submission Settings under Miscellaneous Settings, select this custom role for late-breaking submissions.
4. Assign the role to the author's profile to allow submission past the original deadline.

Alternatively, the admin can manually enter the abstract details on behalf of the author via the backend.

Note: When creating the custom "Late-breaking Author" role, ensure the user type is set to "contact" (not admin) so it appears in assignment options.
