How to Merge Duplicate User Profiles to Consolidate Abstracts and Registrations
Last updated Jul 19, 2026
Question
A user has two separate Dryfta profiles due to different email registrations — one with their official email containing their abstract submission, and another with their updated email where they registered for the conference but their abstract is missing. How should an admin merge these contacts to consolidate all information under one profile?
Answer
If a user has created multiple Dryfta profiles with different email addresses, leading to fragmented information (such as abstracts in one profile and registration details in another), admins can merge these profiles to consolidate all data into a single user account.
The best practice is to select the profile containing the most critical or original information (usually the profile with the abstract submission or official email) as the 'original contact'. Then, merge the duplicate or newer profile (such as the one with the updated email used for registration) into this original contact.
This ensures that abstracts, registrations, and communications are unified under one profile, thus avoiding confusion.
Dryfta provides functionality for admins to merge user contacts under Manage Contacts > Tools > Merge Duplicates.
Before merging, verify which profiles are involved and confirm with the user if needed. After merging, all abstract information, registrations, and communication history will be consolidated under the chosen original contact's profile.
