How to Inform Attendees About PayPal Transaction Fees During Checkout

Last updated Jul 20, 2026

Question

How can I make it clear to attendees that a transaction fee will be charged when they select PayPal as a payment method during event registration?

Answer

To inform attendees that a transaction fee applies when using PayPal, add the fee details in the PayPal payment instructions section in your event's payment setup. This message will appear when attendees select PayPal at checkout, making the fee explicit at the point of payment method selection.

Alternatively, you can include a general notice about potential payment processing fees in the header instructions of the payment page to provide upfront disclosure.

Currently, there isn't an option to display the transaction fee message before the payment method is selected.
