How to Change a Participant's Ticket Type After Payment in Dryfta
Last updated Jul 19, 2026
Question
How can I change the ticket type for a participant who has already paid, and the payment amount differs between the original and new tickets? Also, why doesn't the paid amount update after a partial refund?
Answer
In Dryfta, you can only swap or change tickets between types that have the exact same price. For instance, a ticket priced at 95 EUR can only be swapped with another ticket type costing exactly 95 EUR. This is to maintain accountability and proper financial tracking.
If you have partially refunded an amount (e.g., refunded 25 EUR on a 120 EUR ticket), the paid amount in the system will not automatically adjust to the new ticket price. The system shows the maximum refundable amount for the ticket type, but the original paid amount is retained for accountability.
If the order is still pending, you can edit the order from the backend to add new tickets. However, if the order is already confirmed, you cannot edit it to add tickets. In such cases, the only option is to refund the full original ticket and have the attendee purchase a new ticket.
To summarize:
- Swap tickets only if they have the same price.
- Partial refunds reduce the refundable amount but do not change the original paid amount recorded.
- For confirmed orders, changing ticket types involves refunding and placing a new order.
This process ensures proper financial reconciliation and accurate attendee registration status.
