Converting a Paid Ticket to Use a Free Code After Payment

Last updated Jul 19, 2026

Question

If an attendee has already paid for a ticket but has a free code that should apply, is there a way to convert their existing paid ticket to show use of the free code, or should the ticket be canceled and the attendee re-register?

Answer

Dryfta does not support modifying an existing paid order to retrospectively apply a free code or discount code.

The recommended approach is to refund the payment for the original ticket, cancel that ticket in the system, and have the attendee re-register using the free code.

This ensures the registration accurately reflects the use of the free code and the system records are consistent.
